The Advantages of Fiberglass Tanks for Fire Protection Systems

The Advantages of Fiberglass Tanks for Fire Protection Systems

Fire protection systems are a necessity in rural and some suburban areas where there is no access to a municipal water supply. In some cases, a natural static water supply such as a lake or large pond can be used for fire suppression, but the range of these supplies is limited. By systematically installing fire suppression systems at strategic locations, local governments can maximize firefighters’ access to water and their ability to fight fires in rural and suburban areas. In a recent project, our team planned and oversaw the installation of 104 fire suppression tanks throughout an entire Maryland county. The county now has one 30,000 gallon fire suppression tank within one square mile of any possible incident.

Fiberglass tanks are the ideal solution for meeting the requirements of a fire suppression system. These include:

fire suppression

Corrosion Resistance

Fiberglass will not rust or corrode, even with long-term storage of water. This prevents the tank from leaking and prevents the water from becoming contaminated.

Watertight Design

The watertight design of fiberglass tanks prevents leakage and exposure to outside elements.

Customizable

Fiberglass tanks and accompanying systems can be customized to fit the needs of your site’s fire protection needs.
