Job Description

Tanks Direct, a Maryland-based storage tank distributor, contractor, and service provider, is seeking a highly-skilled individual to add to our construction team. We are looking for a motivated and self-starting Bid Coordinator to join our growing Sales department. Coordinator to join our growing Sales department.

The ideal candidate will search internet-based web-based construction networks programs for sales opportunities for the sales/estimating team. Track results of sales opportunities using Salesforce CRM, Excel Spreadsheets, and Bid Services (Construct Connect), and build and maintain a database of local customers and key contacts. Must be able to complete forms necessary for customers’ vendor/subcontractor pre-qualification databases. Aid the sales/estimating team in collecting materials to create proposals for customers and assist Sales Department in disseminating proposals. Engage Assist in follow-up calling/emailing prospects for pre-selected sales opportunities. Assemble marketing packages. Participate in local promotional events. Prepare and present sales reports at sales meetings. This position is an integral part of the sales team and will have high expectations from peers.

Job Duties

  • Organizing and administering files and folders necessary in the construction bidding process
  • Communicating throughout the day with members of the construction and design industry and our inside/outside sales team
  • Building a working knowledge of products, competitive products, and specialties associated with the industry
  • Participating in sales meetings, job site/plant factory visits, pre-bid meetings to build industry knowledge
  • Aiding the sales/estimating team with a focus on increased revenue generation

Minimum capabilities and experience

  • The right candidate is very organized, efficient, and able to work in an environment that focuses on deadlines and performance
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 10 OS, Microsoft Office software (specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook), and basic internet software are essential
  • Experience with reading construction plans and specifications is preferred
  • Experience with construction bidding software packages (iSqft, Building Connected, Construct Connect, etc.) is preferred
  • Experience with Adobe Pro or Bluebeam PDF editing software is preferred
  • Salesforce CRM experience is preferred
  • Must be able to communicate via telephone, face-to-face interaction, and formal/informal business writing communication
  • High school diploma (A.A/A.S. degree in construction or similar is a plus)
  • Must have 2-5 years of business-to-business sales experience, construction office experience, or industrial/manufacturing office experience. (Provide references from key working contacts in position(s) held above)

Job Description

Tanks Direct is looking for a motivated and self-starting Project Manager to add to a growing department in our Construction division. This position involves a complete responsibility of 25-50 small-medium sized projects that range in scopes associated with petroleum and water pump & tank systems. The primary responsibility of the Project Manager will be to operate conduct all phases of project execution necessary to manage assigned projects from the point of contract through completion. Specific areas of responsibility include project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution. The ideal candidate must be capable of multi-tasking and adjusting to a constantly changing set of priorities and urgencies.

Job Duties

  • Prepare construction project correspondence & documentation in cooperation with Estimators, Sales Representatives, and Managers including but not limited to:
    • Submittals
    • Specification Compliance Forms
    • Material Substitution Requests
    • O&Ms

    • Permits
    • RFIs

Electrical Controls Technician


Job Description

Tanks Direct, a leading installer of petroleum, chemical, and water systems is seeking an electrical controls technician to join our team in Laurel, MD. The electrical controls technician will install, diagnose, and repair various pieces of electrical and mechanical equipment.

Job Duties

  • Plan layout of wiring and install various types of conduit to include PVC, Ridgid and EMT
  • Install control wiring between various pieces of equipment to include pumps, motors, motorized ball valves, solenoids, PLC’s and other miscellaneous equipment
  • Install communication wiring for MODBUS, RS-232, BACNET and other forms of communication data
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment for repairs and or replacement
  • Utilize laptop computer to program PLC’s and other tank monitoring systems

Requirements

Job Duties

  • Site work activities to include excavation, trenching, bedding, backfilling, and shoring
  • Installation & testing of aboveground steel threaded & welded piping
  • Installation & testing of underground fiberglass piping
  • Installation & testing of underground HDPE/polyethylene and fusion-welded piping
  • Installation of accessories on aboveground and underground storage tanks
  • Testing of storage tanks and containment sumps (pneumatic & hydrostatic)
  • Rigging and setting aboveground and underground storage tanks and other related equipment such as dispensers, pumpsets, filtration units, and fuel fill stations

Service Manager – Commercial Petroleum Equipment Systems


Job Description

Tanks Direct is hiring an experienced and motivated Service Manager to manage our existing Service department. This position is responsible for handling all of the operational demands of the company’s Service department under the direction of the General Manager. The primary responsibilities of the Service Manager are to provide management, support, staffing, and review in the areas of sales, execution, scheduling, budgeting, and training. The ideal candidate must be capable of multi-tasking and adjusting to a constantly changing set of priorities and urgencies.

Job Duties

  • Develop a plan with the existing sales/marketing & business development team to improve Tanks Direct's exposure in the commercial petroleum equipment system marketplace
  • Coordinate with existing sales team to generate proposals for site upgrades, repairs, testing, and preventive maintenance agreements. Must have prior experience pricing construction, repair, and maintenance work
  • Work with coordinator and technicians to effectively address current and future scheduling demands
  • Interface with vendors, subcontractors, clients, industry authorities, and internal contacts
  • Negotiate with subcontractors & vendors to receive reasonable stock & project ordering costs
  • Work with existing Coordinator and Accounting staff on the execution of work orders, contracts, and project/job invoicing
  • Run regular Service meetings and provide vision and direction for the Service team

Requirements

  • High school diploma (A.A/A.S. or B.S. degree is a plus)
  • Previous experience in a similar service environment/role is a must
